|I love Hatsune Miku. All I have been doing recently is looking at Vocaloid songs and waiting to get my own when my new PC arrives. After much discusion I decided I'm going to make the dress. |
I have decided on doing the Project Diva variant of Hatsune ( Project Diva is a game for the PSP comming out in 2009) the costume just look smuch nicer, and the headset is cuter
I had an Idea of trying to simplyfy the way of making Hatsune's costume which so far seems to be paying off. First I bought a Mans grey shirt. it was important it was a mans shirt because Hatsune's top comes down quite low on to her skirt, a girls shirt would only go to the waist. teh only problem with choosing a mans shirt over a girls shirt is that It woudl have to be taken in... a lot. I thought that taking it in would be easier than trying to match the fabric and extend it down to the right lenght. The shirt I found in next clerance was £2 and was more fitted than the average mans shirt making it easier to work with. I unpicked the sleaves to star and then started to think about how to take it in.
because hatsune's top is quite thin at the top around the arms. I had to unstitch some of the material round the shoulders and then started to tuck it in underneath so the shirt looked like Hatsune's. teh onl problem at the minute is that the manakin is too small, so If I want to make sure I don't sew it in too small I have to sew it on myself, which means I need someone to do it for me.
I bought the skirt from Peacoks. It was a little expensive at £12.but I wanted to get one that looked good, had enough pleats and was the right length, but this and the wig will be my only splurge buys for this costume. I have found the material that I am going to use to libe the skirt and top, but with Amecon tomorrow I can't afford to buy it yet. I already have a tie, but I want the material to all match so I will make a new tie in that green material when I buy it.
I have found on the internet a wig that would be great for Hatsune. it's not too expensive, so after Amecon I will think about buying it.
I'll be making the head set out of air dry clay so it wont be too heavy or fussy
I may have to buy soem new boots for Hatsune aswell as I don't thin the ones I have currently are long enough, but I will be able to get them fairly cheap. In the end the cost is still gonna work out miles cheaper than orderig the costume online and hopefuly should look just as good.
just waiting for the wig (Posted 19th August 2009)
i have finished my hatsune costume just in time to wear it to halko's concert, unfortunatly the wig didn't arrive in time so I am still waiting on it. I will just end up wearing it again later. i was rather pleased with the end result especiacially considering I lost my original hatsune shirt and had to remake it.
Hatsune progress (Posted 18th November 2008)
so far I have bought a shirt. took off the sleaves. I bought the skirt and need to add the green trim round both the skirt and top. I borrowed my sisters tie. I took a photo on the manekin so I could see what it looks like. I still need to take the shirt in at the back. It is currently pinned in to fir the manequinn
