I loved it from the moment I saw it, and just went ahead and started. The reason it took so long to finish is that every string of sequins on that bodice is sewn on by hand, and there's a good hundred-odd of them. Doing it was soul-sapping and I had a habit of hiding it in the cupboard and trying to forget about it. I got about a third of it done this way, and eventually I decided that I just had to finish the thing off and chose October Expo 06 as my completion date. Not completing it was never an option, given that I'd bought all the materials alrady and it had cost an atomic bomb.
Easily the most expensive and time consuming costume I've ever done. All the hand sequinning, hand beading, and gluing on of rhinestones very nearly tipped me over the edge, but in the end it was so amazingly shiny that I couldn't help but at least be a little happy with it.
I have won two awards with this costume with a combined value of about £200. This does not cover how much it took me to make, and that is all I'll say on the subject! |

Hey, I think the fact that you got to dance with a devishly handsome host for the Expo Masquerade makes up for any cost. ;P
I loved this costume, the Moulin Rouge fan in me went crazy. :D
Well done madam. Well done!
This is probably my favourite costume of yours *_* it's so shiiiiny. WIsh I could've seen your dance from backstage :/
That is absolutely stunning! Well worth the effort, all the hard work really shows and it really suits you :D I'm so sad I didn't go to that Expo.

Beautifull cosplay. I wouldn't know where to start with this costume. I'll have to slowly work my way up to something like this. Love it.
Wow this is seriously impressive. I've never seen anyone cosplay this before. It's beautiful.
