Journal

Alys goes to Kitacon IV (Posted 7th April 2012) I have repaired what has needed it for Alys, and she's just about ready to be able to attend Kitacon IV (2012). It's been a while since April and May 2011 when she was last worn. The greaves and pauldrons are almost sorted, the wig has been washed, and the boots have been tidied up. |
|
Just about done! (Posted 13th April 2011) It'll certainly be finished for the Chapelfield Gardens cosplay picnic on April 16th! It's one of my expo projects, but I'm just wearing it a little earlier as a good test run. Don't tend to get those! |
|
Well on my way to finishing! (Posted 3rd April 2011) Greaves and boomerangs 90%, just need painting (and I need to make the back of the greaves so they don't flap about), pauldrons about 80%. Afterwards, painting, varnishing and attachments! |
|
Armour and weapons in progress! (Posted 29th March 2011) I have constructed most of the armour and slashers now, I just need to do a few more bits of craft foam and gaffa tape sticking. Then it's paper mache and painting! The dress is still in ribbon progress. |
|
Ribbon (Posted 19th March 2011) Slow and steady wins the race. zZzZzZzZzZzZzZz |
|
Velcro done! (Posted 11th March 2011) I have just finished sewing the velcro to the jacket-dress, and also have the belts and pouches in my possession as well! Now for the long haul of sewing the white ribbon all around that jacket-dress. |

Whoo!!!!!!!!! You are gonna rock the awesome sauce!
Old School Much!!! =D I can't wait to see this, it will be awesome
It's now in-progress. No turning back!
I can't wait to see this and she is my favourite character. ^_^
It's a shame she isn't in it long though, isn't it?
Yes but your look amazing anyway. ^_^
^_^' Thank you Reba. The old classic RPGs need more love.
Indeed. ^_^
^_^'
I've now bought my boots for her, so it's all the heavy work to do now: ribbon, slashers/boomerangs, pauldrons and knee guards.
This is awesome! Your progress is going so well and its coming together nicely :) Looking forward to seeing those white boots!
I shall add photos when I get them. ^_^
You have done this very fast.Well done looking good :)
This is looking great! I love those boots :)
Thank you!
Yeah, I love the boots. ^_^
Cant wait to see the rest!
Don't worry, I'll be adding pictures of the finished dress soon!
I just have the front and the collar to do with the ribbon.
After that it's just the knee-guards, pauldrons and slashers/boomerangs.
Looks spot on!
Thank you very much!
I am loving the progress ^_^ your poses rock too :)
So glad you have this ready for Saturday! ^_^ Can't wait to see it all together x
Thank you for both comments. ^_^'
If I work hard on them over the next two days, then it'll look awesome.
I think I should be ok with the boomerangs...they don't "look" like weapons do they?
No the boomerangs dont ^_^ you'll be fine with them... and overall... this cosplay....is.... EPIC! ^_^
This is looking fabulous! I'm blown away by every single one of your cosplays.
Aw thanks R0cket. Means a lot. ^_^'
I hope a few people will recognise her and Zio at expo (I intend to get Zio finished for then). I mean, those other than the commentees on here. ^_^
It's such an old RPG but I hope there are more of those who still love it.
I know what you mean, I cosplayed Nel Zelpher from Star Ocean 3 (2003 release) and only one person recognised me, haha!
Phantasy Star IV is an oldie but it's also a popular classic, so fingers crossed! Though whether they recognise the characters or not, they'll definitely notice the talent and effort put into the costume =]
Ah, it's a shame I only started cosplaying in 2009. I'd have known you as Nel Zelpher as well!
Not many recognised us in Legend of Dragoon gear in October 2009, but a few did. So I hope SOME will know who we are at least. ^^'
Thank you again too.
looking great in this! :D That hair suits you so well. *_*
Very nice work on the costume, it's so rare to see good Phantasy Star cosplay.
Thank you very much. ^_^
It's one reason I'm doing her and Zio at May Expo.
In-fact, that wig is somewhat close to my natural colour (but naturally mine is darker but I have it dyed red).
