Description
Basically I've had some sort of idea about this in my head since last Halloween when I did a Witch version of Rinoa. Which sucked by the way, so I'm not putting any photos up. I've always wanted to do a different version of Rinoa that wasn't her ballroom dress, her normal outfit or her Dion Rogers one. So I've finally found an idea that I can do without it costing me any serious money since I'm saving up for May Expo. Plus it was something I could some spare material for that I've been storing away for ages.
Since I've done part of the cape, I would have to say the hardest part would be the cape. Not only was the sewing machine I was using being retarded, I had to unpick loads since I accidently sewed a bit of folded fabric on the ribbon underneath. Plus I kind of missed a bit out at the top, which is now at the bottom which I just noticed when I finished putting the sewing machine. It was harder then I imagined.
The easiest part was the top, the shorts and the shoes. Already had them. The shorts and the top are from my other Rinoa costume since I wanted to keep some aspects the same as the original and the boots are just normal shoes which I'm going to be using for not only this but for Paine's Psychic as well.
I probably learnt that no matter what character I'm cosplaying as, I can always come up with bad ideas for different costume. 8D Cos I'm smart like that.
Well the stretching black and white material feels a bit weird since one bit is a little tighter then the other, hence why I used the stretchy material instead of normal cotton material. But it actually feels quite nice. Of course, I'm going to be boiling whenever I wear it due to the black parts, so lots of deodrant for me! Yay!

I love this, it's a really interesting varient on a popular character.

I like the pattern on the fabric for the skirt and sleeves! Nice choice =)

Finished (Posted 30th March 2010)

I finished the cape (finally) and now I just need to upload some photos onto here of the finished thing. With the new necklace that I'm using until I get a proper white one but I think it ties it pretty well with Rinoa in general. The wings took a little longer then I would have liked to cut out and sew, but then again it's probably due to the shape and the material. Yes I have used the same wing shape for Rinoa's original costume as well, thought it would add a sense of originality to it.
