Costume Information

Cost : About £70
Time Taken : About 20 Hours

Having to make EVERYTHING at least twice because I fail when it comes to measurements and stuff... well, I'm not going to be wearing this to MCM Telford. It's taken too long and the huge amount of problems I've faced has left me with a half-finished costume that will definitely NOT be finished within 2 weeks. Besides, I have exams to worry about at the moment...

See you at Kita or some other place, I guess~

WHERE THE HECK DID YOU GO?! (Posted 10th January 2011)

SO SO SO SO SOOO sorry I vanished - schoolwork 'n' all - y'know the drill.
I'm so close to finishing now. The sword will be the biggest project, but I'll definitely get this done before February. Only one exam this month, too, so not much on my plate I suppose.

More images to come!

I Hate Irons (Posted 18th November 2010)

Well, someone managed to melt her bandanna. *COUGH*
I'll be making another one. After that, it'll be the sash, and as TheKillingDoll kindly pointed out, it'd probably be be a good idea to re-do the trimming around my belt with bias binding rather than ribbon.

BLAH! Well, this is gonna happen with a first costume right?

Eh? (Posted 30th October 2010)

If you're wondering where the photos of... well... EVERYTHING disappeared to, you'll be (un?)happy to know that I've removed them to replace them with newer progress pictures. I'm so close to finishing the costume! Next up is White Storm - my Granddad kindly offered to cut out the blade and help me fit it to the hilt etc. He's good with a saw and what have you.

I love my Granddaddy <3

Told Ya So (Posted 23rd October 2010)

Didn't I say I'd be starting on my belt? Haha! The buckle is about half-done, too; just waiting on some plaster of paris to smooth it over. Enjoy!

Belt! (Posted 21st October 2010)

Yay! So, I'm finally starting on my big, blue belt! As soon as possible I'll get some fabric to cover the foam base (it needs to be a little more rigid than a wee bit of cloth) and stick a few pictures up. Also, I'll need to find a way to fasten/unfasten it. Perhaps strong velcro or a clasp is a good idea?

Stay tuned!

OMG, Shoes! (Posted 13th October 2010)

Today, I tried dying my red canvas shoes after bleaching them. So far the dye's taken really well but I have yet to rinse them out and stuff... Eep. Wish me luck!

Afterwards, all I'll have to do is paint or sew the stripe down the front of them~

Bye Bye, Fishies... (Posted 9th October 2010)

Well, I bought some Sharpies the other day after being told that they were great on some fabrics as they didn't bleed much (if at all). I tried them on an old school shirt - worked just fine - then tried them on my fish templates. GOD did they bleed?! So, I ordered some different fabric (polycotton, like my shirts) and I'll draw them out again soon!

In the meantime, I'll be trying to make the blue belt and bikini-style top. Keep an eye out! <3
