Billy Hatcher!

Costume Information

General
Cost : Approx. £45?
Time Taken : 4 days

Description
KitaCon was a week before Easter, so why not! Nobody ever cosplays him despite being -adorable-, and it was easy to make up in a few days.

Since it's just a quick outfit it's a little ghetto, but matches his original "Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg" design more than All-Stars. The only "All-Stars" aspect will be the Giant Egg, which had the All-Stars pattern instead of the spotty Giant Egg pattern :P

Over the course of the day I handed out mini eggs to a bunch of people and had a great time; it's a super comfy costume and despite being a little obscure, it was recognised quite a bit! Happy happy~!

Construction

- Wig
The wig is just a short blonde wig with the fringe sprayed into a quiff. His hair is meant to be a beak of sorts but I thought a quiff was more realistic :P

- Hat
The hat was made from fleece, cut rougly from an existing fleece hat. The back was stuffed with wadding and surprisingly, only fell off once! It's a little limp to one side, but I'm happy with it :)

- Shirt
The shirt started out as what looked like a giant babygro.. the back of the outfit has a little chickenny butt attached so it was cut with that included. The back had 2 little gold buttons sewn on.

- Scarf
The scarf was basically a long semicircle with 2 round pieces to tie at the front. I lovingly termed them the 'gobbles'. They had to be secured at the shoulders with safety pins else it slipped all over, but once in place, sturdy!

- Gloves
The gloves are meant to be fingerless but a week before the con I had no patience to sew fingerless gloves so instead they were made as mittens. I think they looked really good though, and not out of place at all. Super comfy too!

- Trousers
The trousers were £3 sweatpants from Primark modified to be more fitting like leggings. I cut and pinned and sewed them up and they looked perfect. On their own, they're a fashion disaster, but with the rest of the costume they're perfect!

- Legwarmers
The legwarmers are a little dark. They were made from some leftover pleather and pieces of gold dance fabric for the little gold pieces. I ran out of the gold fabric before I was done and ideally there should be 4 gold nubbins on each legwarmer (2 on the inside 2 on the outside) but nobody noticed, lol.

- Shoes
The shoes were £12 from Next and are like mock Converse, which aren't in the slightest bit accurate, but they were blue and again, nobody noticed :P

- Giant Egg
The giant egg was made from fleece stuffed with wadding and beanbag beans with a pocket inside for storage of mini eggs, phone, etc :P. The patterns were cut freehand from fleece and then glued on.
