Lupar Drachbet

Costume Information

Cost : £145 so far
Time Taken : About 20 hours thus far

This is a character from the sequel to Flight of the Valkyrie which will be a novel focussing on Arcanepunk rather than Steampunk. Arcanepunk is a combination of Steampunk and Fantasy, often using magic and sorcery as a basis for technology or merely alongside the technology.

Name: Lupar Drachbet

Occupation: Blood Sorcerer, former Special Advisor to Darmanian Military. Blood Sorcerers cast the darkest of spells using their blood or the blood of others!

Eyes: Brown

Hair: Short, black and red (might change but, this is my hair colour now :-p) spiked.

Clothing and Appearance: Lupar wears a black leather helmet shaped like that of a wolf or jackal with just his eyes showing. The mouthpiece is a stylised maw (see pictures) and ends just beneath his chin. He wears a tattered black cape that reaches mid-calf and a hood that hangs on his back. Across his shoulders and down the top of his back is a grey wolf-skin, and this is where he got his given name, Lupar, from as he hunts the large wolves which exist in Darmania. He wears a dark red tunic which comes down to his upper thighs with a split at the front and gold trim around his neck. Around his waist he wears a belt containing test-tubes filled with blood. He wears another of these diagonally across his chest containing small bones and the like.

On his left arm he wears a long, black leather glove, at the end of which, his fingers are tipped with razor-sharp talons (look at Daryl's right arm for Swiss, the fingers are like that!). He also has been known to hold a small, curved dagger (see pictures). This dagger has a spring-loaded test-tube in the base and needles within the blade that can drain blood from opponents to use later. He also has a longer black sword which is his main weapon (see Louis' sword). Over his right arm he wears a metallic gauntlet that has a long space running up the inside of his wrist so that he can slash open his own wrists to access blood if it is in short supply.

He wears dark tucked into black, calf-high boots.

Nah Leo, I didn't use those in the end. I needed a lot more so I just bought a bunch from ebay.

Fake Blood and Almost done... (Posted 24th July 2010)

Right, got my fake blood recipe sorted, tried some out and it looks pretty good! Gonna gather most of it together soon and get some photos as it's almost done. Looks like I'll be lacking my fur though which is a shame, but gainineg a few gadgets that I'm looking forward to playing with!

Need to be more...intimidating! (Posted 24th July 2010)

Disliked the look of the helmet on it's own. Have now added a balaclava and will be blacking out around my eyes as well!
