| I decided to go with Abel Nightroad as he is one of my favorite characters of the series. What really made me choose him is that I would be able to use my own hair and glasses for the costume. I wanted an easy costume to do as all my others planned for this year are quite complex. I chose the Anime version as it was the simplest version. The hardest part was sewing with fractured ribs. It meant I had to leave a cap of about a month between drawing up the pattern to making it. In that time I lost a dress size. So I will have to do some adjustmets. The easeiest part was the capelette. It was a very simple design. Also that I was using my own hair so I didn't need to style a wig. His first wear was at Collectormaina Manchester 4. He got a good reception. I did have a few requests for the Crusnik version. Which I might do. I'm also looking into doing the manga version. Hes now complete with the cuffs finally done for Collectormaina 13. I do plan to fix and adjust some of the robe and prehaps remake the gun holster as its meant to be under his arm not on the waist. Have updated the costume after several of the gold accessories broke. I remade them using foamex plastic which was cut with a dremel saw and then heated with a heat gun to be shaped. Finally painted with gold car spary piant. Final completed version was worn at Amecon 2008 | |

Updated Photoshoot (Posted 23rd February 2010) I really wanted to get into doing more location shots for my cosplays. For Abel I have one perfect right outside my front door. An abandorned church that looks quite old and gothic. As it snowed quite heaverly my brother and I decided to make use of it and head out for a mini Anime Abel shoot. Unfortunatly it went dark stupidally fast so the church can't be clearly seen in any of the shots. I'll be hopefully trying again once the Artbook Abel is finished as its such a lovely location. The violin featured is a family heirloom that I inherited from my Grandmother. |

Ah hey, I've seen you around a few events in Manchester in this costume but I've never got around to saying hi! So er 'hi' X3
For an 'easy' costume this looks very complex! You pull off the character well.
Thank you. Your are more than welcome to say 'Hi' next time you see me. I'm quite shy so suck and saying 'Hello' to peeps.
It was easy in comparison to the artbook version which I do plan to do.
