|Cost :||Around £60. So far.|
|EDIT 23/2/11: Providing we can get them both done, and providing the weather is not a total heatwave-of-DOOM, myself and my wonderful x-Blade-x will be wearing our full Glen and Jack cosplays to May Expo this year. CAN'T. WAIT. <333 *prepares material...tobeworkedonafteracertainothercosplay*|
...Because he really deserves more love, and because I have such an amazing Jack to harass <3.
To go with x-Blade-x's EPIC WIN Jack, and the rest of our awesome PH group ^w^ <3.
Edit 24/5/10: A 'casual' version of this is to be worn on the Friday of May Expo, around the PTI with my Jack, our Lotti, Oz-Vincent and Will-o-the-Abyss. So can't wait! <3
Edit 06/6/10: Unveiled the coat at Expo, and got such a wonderful reaction from my group 8'D (especially my Jack, whose birthday present half-consisted of this surprise x'D <3)
I've never been more proud of a piece of cosplay than I am of THAT COAT. *__* It's made from crushed velvet (because the store didn't have normal velvet in at the time, OTL), silk, one heart-clasp, nine assorted buttons, and is completely lined. The first thing I have ever lined, so I was completely proud of the fact it didn't fall to pieces after the first glomps ='D.
The basic design actually came about because I screwed up with some pattern pieces, but that enabled the fit to work so much better. The collars and everything else was made without the use of any pattern. The sleeves are a mess at the cuffs, and I have to carry the entire coat bridal-style whenever I move it, since they're so bottom-heavy that they're likely to put far too much strain on the rest of the coat if I let them hang for too long. *face-palm*
I have learnt so much from making just this much of this cosplay! I can't wait to make the rest of it, and have my dear Jack join me in their full completed cosplay too! I'm going to bake for certain, though I was pleasantly surprised that that /didn't/ already happen on Friday and Saturday night at the Expo. x'D

...Ready For Expo. *ASSEMBLES Baskervilles* (Posted 24th May 2010)
I've finally, officially finished everything of the cosplay that I was hoping to get ready for May Expo. O_O
Just literally finished the last bits of hand-sewing (I had to do a fair amount of the lining and fiddly-bits that way, rather than using the machine...so yeah, this is somewhat fragile x'D) ...some of the tiny details look rather hobo-worthy, but I don't care -- because HE'S READY. *collapses* The bits and pieces I wanted done for my dear Jack and Lotti's birthdays are ready, and so I can finally get on and finish the other...actual cosplays I'll be wearing on Expo itself, rather than just the Friday night x'D.
Still no pictures, because I'm cruel like that. <3 Hoping to get some on Friday though (withmyJack!! *OOC!spaz*) and there'll be a full update on all the information when I get back.
Now, off to raid Boots for some orga-- I mean... 'low-lashes' style makeup. ;D
...That Was Close. O.O (Posted 22nd April 2010)
Okay, so I'm getting close to finishing off everything I want to get done for May. I just need to add buttons/clasps/whatever, finish off some edging ribbon (once HobbyCraft gets more in ¬_¬ *boots them*) and then sort out the lining. The finish is in sight! ='D ...Or, for the bits I need for Expo. And my dear Jack's birthday. <3
Had a close one today though! Was trying to sew on some edging ribbon and back-tack it with the machine. There was a snap, and something sharp flew across my cheek. The fabric had been too thick, and had snapped my needle in three x'D FAIL. So add needle-massacre to the list of Baskerville-destroyed things in my house. Lucky it missed my eye!
My love for this cosplay has gone up exponentially in the last few days. I wasn't feeling that confident about it, but now that it's starting to come together I /LOVE/ it. Special loves go to Lotti this week -- she knows why ;D.
Damn You Glen Baskerville! [Part II] (Posted 14th April 2010)
Urf. I am going to ROAST in this cosplay. Completely. Just the WIP (wig, shirt, pants, boots and bits of the waistcoat) was too hot in my house! All that bloody velvet. No wonder Glen went psycho...
So I basically haven't done anything on this for...most of Easter <.< but am going to change that so as much as possible can be ready for May (when my epic Jack and I will be flailing around in the evening <3 possibly with Lotti! *pokes her*).
I hate edging ribbon. It is the bane of my existence. And probably another reason why Glen went nuts. But oh well. Just thought I'd post this to show there is still some (renewed) life going on over here!
On a random note: I love my wig. So much! If Jack ever stops stroking it I'll be doing so myself <3.
Damn You Glen Baskerville! [Part I] (Posted 23rd March 2010)
The wig is styled, finally. My keyboard is covered in cut-offs of black hair. The base wig that I bought was pretty much perfect, but I've cut the bangs in myself today and am actually very happy with them. ='D Now I can hide behind them to look extra angsty ;D.
Other than that, progress is moving...slowly. But moving. The fact I feel like a pincushion doesn't help motivation, but my amazingly epic Jack and the rest of my PH fags are helping a lot <3.
Still keeping pictures to myself for now. All to torment-- I mean, er SURPRISE my Jack with. <3
There's Going To Be Swearing... (Posted 18th March 2010)
Title from the immortal words of Richard Hammond. ;D
Hoping to have at least a 'casual' version done by some time in April/May so that it can roughly coincide with my dear Jack (x-Blade-x)'s birthday <3.
Random side note: I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS COSPLAY. <3 (Despite the fact it's already made me bleed. And scratched all up my left arm due to a poorly placed pin x'D).
No progress pictures because I want it to be a SURPRISE for Jack <3. ;D
Edit 19/3/10: The wig arrived. Styling begins today. <3
