One of my all time favourite villains. (I have even bothered to read the book.)
I have wanted to cosplay him for ages. There are so many different versions of the character, not just in castlevania but in other movies and books as well. It took me ages to decide which version.
I settled on Symphony of the Night, because it was the game that introduced me to the character, and is one of the most recognisable versions of him.
The coat and the cloak are perfect, I did commission those (Thanks to Velvet Glove Costume) as my sewing skills are minimal. Evereything else has come from various charity shops, (an equestrian shop for the boots) which I have then modified myself.
Bought some decent vampire teeth, and the moustache and beard are going to be crepe hair. (Boiled sheep's wool.)
Hopefully, depending on the money front I will have red contacts as well, though I am not to bothered if I don't as looking at the concept art for SOTN, he seems to have grey eyes...
Got red contacts, they are a bitch putting them in, and are just a bit to small, but they do finish the costume off.
Minami 16, my first event cosplaying and the first time I wore this. It was so hot! Also the tash did not come out so well at first. I had to re do it before the masquerade, and it looked a lot better.
At amecon the second time I wore it, was very nearly a disaster, I was trying out some new grease paint, but my skin hated it, and it went all porous. So i had to use what little white concealer I had, and some porcelain foundation , and put eye-shadow on to try and make my face look paler.
There is still more I can do to improve the costume, and will do so. I am however never again wearing it in the summer. Too hot.
Completely Finished (Posted 11th July 2010)
Completely done now, unlike it was at minamicon. not sure if I want to do wear this at ame in August though, ITS SO FRIKIN HOT!!
