Carpathian Dragons (BloodRayne 2)

Costume Information

Description
I already have the outfit and blades done, as this costume was originally debuted at London MCM Expo in May 2009.

The plan this time is to make the two guns that Rayne acquires at the beginning of BloodRayne 2, the Carpathian Dragons. I've not seen this done before, so I thought I'd give it a go.

I do need to make some better arm straps for the blades though, and the outfit also requires some tweaking. I HOPE I can make the new straps, do the necessary repairs and reinforcements to the costume, and make the Carpathian Dragons.

Thanks Bambi and Tif.

Bambi, I made them with corrugated card as a base, then craft foam (doubled to make them thicker), gaffa tape to strap everything together, paper mache, wall/tile adhesive grout (sanded when dry to fill in as many dents and imperfections as possible), then lots of mixed acrylic paint. Finally there will be varnish on top so it won't matter if they get wet.

Are you on Facebook at all? I can divulge what I use, but it's a long-winded process and it takes a lot of very tedious work to do it.

Carpathian Dragons - on the last legs of creation (Posted 24th October 2010)

So the Carpathian Dragons have proven to be more of a challenge than I originally thought, but as they're now in the very last stages of their construction (the decorative stage), I'm thinking they've turned out pretty damn well, even though the handle shape is somewhat off due to needing the structure to be intact.
