I've wanted to do this cosplay since 2004 but back then had no concept of 'sewing' or 'cosplay shopping online'! This cosplay ended up being a bit iffy, sewing-wise. The trousers were a nightmare as I didn't have a proper pattern (totally learning from this mistake and buying a pattern next time I want to make trousers!). Making trousers to fit properly was probably the trickiest part of the costume; in the end they still didn't fit all that well! The gilet was made using a pattern I've used for lots of things, and pretty easy to make (he most fiddly part was putting on some belt loops) The straps across the torso didn't work so well, as the one on the diagonal kept riding up and slipping about. The boots were some old ones I had, and the t-shirt was a Primark one. Didn't manage to get many pictures where the bow is visible in the wig, but it is there! This cosplay probably would have been much easier to deal with if it hadn't been so wet (and therefore cold) that day! Bare arms and chilly wet weather do not mix!

Like gold dust... (Posted 3rd February 2010)

Purple trousers are like gold dust. I didn't find any, so I'll be making some instead.

Got home from Shopping For Cosplay Items (pile of fabric: check. t-shirt to customise: check) to find the wig had arrived!
It needs restyling but its a good colour and seems to be pretty good quality too.
