|Cost :||About $60 US dollars.|
|Time Taken :||About a week.|
|This is my third cosplay. I did Team Rocket with my friend Josh. :3 |
I attempted to make the hair gravity defying by making a wig from scratch. I did tons and tons of research, took advice from well-known wigmakers, etc... but it epic failed in the end. My friend Tamara dubbed it "The Abortion", because it looked like a blood, stringy, red mess. xD
So I had to go to the Artist Alley at the con thirty minutes before our photoshoot and buy a wig last minute (which ended up making the cosplay costing $40 more than it should have. =.=;;)
I styled it quickly, and while we were a HUGE HIT, I hated my hair the entire time. xD
My Jessie outfit was really simple and very, very cheap in the end. All I did was hem a few things here and there. :P
I bought a white turtle neck that was a little long on me at a thrift shop for about $5. I whacked off the shirt to the appropriate length, and then saved the part I cut off. I cut the slit in the front, and then hemmed it up. It's a little crooked, but I'm making progress in my sewing! YAY!
MY R IS TOTALLY WRONG, WTF. I had a reference when I made Josh's, but not mine. >.< That is the FIRST thing that will be fixed, TRUST ME. It still irks me. Lol.
I took the part of the shirt I cut off, and turned that into the mini-skirt. It was THE PERFECT LENGTH, but I still wore shorts underneath because I forgot my white underwear at home. >.<
I hemmed it and then got a friend to help me add a zipper in the side. :3
I had ordered THESE AWESOME AND PERFECT BOOTS, but then found out too late that they were out of stock. So through a last minute (YET AWESOME) decision, I cut up some of my old, thick tights, and pulled them over my ballet flats. It created THE PERFECT SHAPE, you have no idea. We kept them up with spirit gum.
We had a BLAST wearing Team Rocket, and we were really we recieved. :3
