Character: Perona from One Piece
Costume made by: Speckles
Perona has been a long-term cosplay I have improved to over the years, usually when a costume deadline wasn't met, I would fix a bit of her up and re-wear her.
Her crown is made from red and white leatherette, which has aluminium modelling wire encased inside the white piping to hold it's shape, it was then embelished with gold domed 'purse feet' and sewn onto the base wig. The cross was laser cut out of wood. The white top was purchased from primark and modified into a crop top, and I then got the logo screen printed at a local T-shirt shop.
All the red pieces of the costume are made from 2way stretch cotton velvet, I haven't managed to find this fabric since buying it which is a shame, since I want to remake the capelet! The scallops were the most time consuming, I drew a template on paper, and sewed the shape onto a piece of fabric facing, which was then turned inside out and ironed a lot til it held the small scallop shapes. All the white details on the skirt are blackout lining that has simply been top-stitched in place.
The boots are modified from a red shiny pvc abba style boot. I bought extra PVC and sewed the straps on, as well as the front 'tongue' of the boot, and then vinyl-spray painted them in a nice Maroon red.
Finally, the Umbrella; easily the most expensive part of the costume. I bought four umbrellas from brolliesgalore and extracted fabric from two of them to make the horns and the squares, and stitched them onto the purple umbrella. The handle is a metal pipe from the local DIY store and I carved the swirl with my dremel using MDF 25mm thick.

Mr Hollow has acquired a body! Now some nice arms would go lovely with that.

Here we have his eyes, lips and tongue all pinned into place. Isn't he the cutest?

Since I once again ran out of funds to finish any newly started cosplays, decided to jazz up Perona once more with her own Negative Hollow companion!
Just found a plain old ball plush pattern on the interwebs for his head and cut out paper templates; pinning them for rough sizing/positioning.
