| - Helmet made from half a Darth Vader helmet; the horn was constructed from the blade of a toy foam sword carved to shape and with coathanger wire inserted into it to shape it. The ridges at the back and the crest were built up from thick cord Aruldited onto the helmet. The shape was then built up with very broken down papier mache, smoothed over with polyfiller and finished with two coats of ivory-shade, matte-finish paint - Aqua coloured contacts purchased from EyesBright - Black and white Snazaroo face paint used for makeup - Coat made from heavy-duty cotton and black trim - Hakama purchased from Ebay - Standard black socks - Waraji made from a pair of flipflops with the original straps cut off. The sandals were then given two coats of spirit-based white paint. White cord was knotted into the approriate pattern and Aruldited onto the soles. - The zanpakutoh scabbard and hilt were carved from a 4"x40" beam of wood. The hilt guard was made from three plates of aluminium - two cut out in the hilt design and one plain, which was sandwiched between the former two. The scabbard was painted with Games Workshop acrylics and finished with a gloss laquer. Navy-blue tape and blue cord were used to finish and embellish the hilt and top of the scabbard. | |
