| So basically this costume will be used for sasashie's Final Fantasy group in May for the calender. I wanted my design to have an elegent feel to it insead of just doing an obvious two piece or super short dress, Tifa needs some elegance. By the looks of things shes is going to end up looking a bit lolita-ish. My ideas with this design were: Putting a cutout bit on the back of the dress to go with her wallmart dress design that she has on the front, and adding a little bow underneath ^__^ Having her in socks as she has socks in her original design, and the lace goves to go with the long black bits that go up her arms (the gloves will be fingerless of corse). Ive decided on lace as its softer and reminds me of christmas, they are down as black at the moment but maybe green could be used? There will be white tights to keep the legs warm. The dress will still be short to tie in with Tifa's short black skirt. And raised at the front to give the illusion of a crop. I wanted ruffles to add a bit of christmas fun, and i wanted a contrast with Tifa's original quite square-ish design. The shoes will still be red. But dainty t-bar heels again to contrast with Tifa's bulky boots. Tinsel will be used at the bottom of the hair, a fur trim on the top of the dress, a green round ring ill be worn on the right hand to tye in with the material on her glove, and most likely a christmas hat. Alas (Posted 22nd December 2009) I dont currently have the capabilitys to make Ruffled skirts, i have tried and failed. So i am resorting to a tutu/peticoat kinda thing instead. So unfortunatly this costume will be made from ultered clothing as apposed to being made from scratch...i suck ¬___¬ |

Awwh this is lovely, I like how you've made it a totally unquie design rather then just buying one from ebay! I love how you've also tried to keep some of Tifa's elements of her original design!

What happened to your original sketch of the costume design? can you stick it in the journal or somewhwere, cuz as far as I remember you made the cos quite accurate to your original drawing.
It was sooo cold! and my feet kept sinking, so they were buried the whole time, but so worth it! ^___^ I will certainly pop my sketch in the journal. I just added a cape and hehe. I had one laying around and i though it would be warmer! And popped a pretty chrsitmas bow at the front.
