| Darn you Angel Aiko for getting me into this adorable series! I'm really enjoying the series so far, its so cute and lovely and really has a nice Card Captor-esque feel to it, rather than the UBER-EPICNESS of CLAMP series' of late, which is a nice fresh, yet nostalgic feel. I love it. ^^ Kobato is adorable and I can't help but want to constantly hug her, plus her dress sense is amazing and I wish I could wear her clothes every day without people thinking I'm werid lol. XD No idea when I'm going to do this for, if I'm even going to do it for a con, I might just make the outfit because its so cute and I'd like to take some really pretty pictures with it. We'll see! :) (Plus I'll probably end up wearing this as my summer dress seeing as its so cute and my favourite colour!) Also: ZOMG GIRLY OUTFIT WTF?!! | |

And so... (Posted 8th March 2010) I've never made a dress before, well, nothing quite like an *actual* dress. (The Twins didn't count considering they were technically a skirt + a bodice) so this is a whole new experience for me. Also I couldn't find a suitable pattern to start the dress off with, so it was a case of Frankenstiening a couple of patterns and bits and bobs together. Mostly I used the bodice/top pattern I got when I went to the summer course at the London College of Fashion (it has turned out to be a very nifty bit of pattern! I've already used it for my Ven jacket). So used that, hacked it up with the base fabric, then the fun part of then hacking the pattern fabric I just made in half to sort out the stripes. Yes, no luck finding suitable fabric so it was a case of not only Frankenstiening patterns together, but Frankenstiening the fabric I had together too. Still, I think it doesn't look too bad so far - also lined it (woo! lining!) As for the skirt, as said I've never made a dress before, so it took a bit of guesswork and in the end I made a circle skirt, using the skirt part of my '50s rockabilly dress to base it off of. Cut it out, then had to measure between stripes and once more frankenstien it all together. That's what I'm doing so far! - photos will be uploaded eventually. |

Yes good choice *thumbs up* Good luck with it (I am already struggling trying it find the perfect shade of wig! Stupid changing hair colour, one minute light brown, another time, strawberry brown >.<
