|Cost :||Too much >_<|
|I must first apologise profusely to Colin Morgan, for I wore this to the Merlin panel at MCM Expo May 2010 and he saw me and I think I must have freaked him out just a little.|
Which makes me wonder if he's ever googled 'Merlin cosplayers'.
If so, I am fecked. Completely and utterly fecked.
No, wait, I blame Charlotte Morris for being too epic.
Aaanyway, I got the urge to make this after watching series 2.
I love the show, and obviously Merlin is my favourite character (cheekbones! guh oAo).
I wore this on the Saturday of the London MCM Expo May 2010.
It's also the first cosplay I've made that comes from a live action series 8D
Aren't I just the coolest piece of cool you've ever come across?
. . .what do you mean no?
Blue cotton for the shirt, with hand stitched decoration around the neck.
Red cotton for the other shirt.
Red and blue cotton for the neckscarves.
Brown cotton-velvet for the pants.
Real leather for the jacket (reverse used) AND COMPLETELY HAND STICIHED FOR I AM IN IDIOT. MY FINGERS. THEY BLED Dx.
Black cotton for the lining.
Brown wig, tinted and styled by myself.
Brown faux-suede boots.
Blue contact lenses.
May buy gold contacts for magic-casting times.
All in all I'd say it was a pretty successful costume.
I got recognised by a few fans of the show and stared at by a few others.
Then found a Gwen cosplayer and felt instantly better (y)
It's quite comfortable, but got really hot and a bit sweaty after being indoors for a while :/
But I was wearing binding, shirt, leather, neckscarf and a wig so that was to be expected.
It was good outside though and nothing broke and I'll be wearing it again for MCM Expo October 2010 after re-making some stuff (the shirt shrunk in the wash!!! ;lsdisfolhijkdfb\dn) and if the cast happen to be around while I'm wearing this, well I'll make sure I'm carrying a shovel so I can dig myself a hole and die in it :D
It would be nice to have some picture in this that, like, aren't all the same fking pose. . .
I'm, also going to be working in this more soon.
I need to alter the pants, possibly make a new shirt and a new jacket out of faux suede instead of leather.
Jacket (Posted 19th August 2011)
This costume will be coming with me to London MCM Expo October 2011, and as such I really need to fix up the jacket.
HOLY FRAK (Posted 18th May 2010)
THERE WILL BE A MERLIN PANEL AT EXPO AND IT'S BEEN CONFIRMED AND EVERYTHING!
-thumbs. . . are. . . pain- (Posted 8th May 2010)
ohmygod they hurt so much.
-is a lonely Merlin- (Posted 28th January 2010)
So, I was chatting away with my Arthur the other day, and the subject came to the dates of Expo.
Wig and Expo (Posted 22nd December 2009)
A lot of people have been telling me that they like the wig I already have, but I don't.
Also, I'm hoping that there will be another Merlin panel at Expo to promote Series 3.
. . . D= (Posted 13th December 2009)
Just rewatched Episode 12 of Merlin 'The Fires Of Idirsholas', and I've just noticed that his shirt has freakin' slits up the sides at the edge.
