| Sadly I don't have time to make a dress for the ball this year so as the theme is enchanted forest I am wearing a floaty silk dress which is a mahogany/deep red/chocolate colour that I bought for a friend's wedding a few years ago and I will accessorise it with chiffon, flowers etc. to make it more maiden-like. Try as I may I could not work out how to secure the wreath to my head - despite help from friends (thank you). However, the evening before the ball, I suddenly had an epiphany! I had already secured some ribbon either side of the wreath so I decided that I would create a little plaits using part of my own long hair either side of my head and entwine the ribbon into it so that it plaits within my hair, then loop the ribbon around the bottom of the plait and knot it to secure it all together. I did that down both sides of my head just over my ears and ta-da! The wreath stayed attached - perfect! And it looked very effective and more maiden-like, too. I was very pleased with it =^_^= | |

29 Nov 09 (Posted 1st December 2009) I really didn't want to secure the wreath to my head by tying ribbon under my chin (like a bonnet!) but try as I may I could not work out how else to do it - despite help from friends (thank you). However, the evening before the ball, I suddenly had an epiphany! As mentioned in a previous entry, I had already secured some ribbon either side of the wreath so I decided that I would create a little plaits using part of my own long hair either side of my head and entwine the ribbon into it so that it plaits within my hair, then loop the ribbon around the bottom of the plait and knot it to secure it all together. I did that down both sides of my head just over my ears and ta-da! The wreath stayed attached - perfect! |

25 Nov 09 (Posted 26th November 2009) The veil is complete :-) |

22 Nov 09 (Posted 23rd November 2009) It seems that chiffon can sometimes not be very accommodating when it comes to hemming! But I managed to show it who's boss and have now made some sleeves and a veil to match my silk dress. |

21 Nov 09 (Posted 23rd November 2009) Went shopping and bought a Christmas wreath (yay for Poundland!) which shall be rested on my head once I have decorated it accordingly. |

oh wow you're going to look gorgeous!
Wow! Your going to look so beautiful.
Hi Lunar-Kitten.
...Reading your journal to see how you are getting on...just a suggestion, an alternative to tieing a ribbon under your chin like a bonnet - In order to hold my tiara in place I tied on some spring loaded hair - clip - band - thingys. lol I dont know what they are called but they look like hair slides and they close like a broach does.. You might be able to do similar or fix some kind of full hair band onto the wreath, even hot glue it on.
Looking forward to seeing all your pics. :)
