|I'm a huge fan of older movies, and I can't even begin to explain how much I adore this film. Ever since I was little, I've been in love with it. I could honestly watch it over and over, and never get bored. :) I've considered Dorothy for ages, and decided to add her to my list.|

Completed shoes (Posted 17th May 2012)
Now with photo! :D You can also see my socks and my box of gems that I used for the bows.
Shoes are done! (Posted 16th May 2012)
Took me long enough to get round to finishing them, but I've finally completed my ruby slippers! I thought I'd need to order more sequins but I managed to arrange them so that I had literally just enough to cover both shoes. 15 metres of sequins glued down...yay! @__@
Gemssssss (Posted 14th September 2011)
Got my gems and beads for the shoe bows today :)
Sparkle sparkle (Posted 16th August 2011)
Here's a photo of my shoes in their current state :B Sort of a before and after thing, really! The one covered in sequins just needs its bow and then it'll be finished. Ignore the random white triangles, my room is a mess lmao!
Socks (Posted 16th August 2011)
The socks arrived today :D Just need to cut them to the right length and re-hem them.
Shoes (Posted 15th August 2011)
Today the shoes and sequins (and the gingham ribbon) arrived in the post, so I'm starting the shoes! I hope it turns out alright. D:
EDIT: So, five hours later, one shoe has all of its sequins glued on! It just needs a bow, but to make that I'll need to go out and buy the correct beads and rhinestones.
So far, so good! (Posted 12th August 2011)
So here's what I've done so far for this costume!
DRESS: I received vouchers for my favourite fabric store for my birthday, so I bought some gingham fabric with some of them. I did debate a little bit over the colour in the store, but I'm pretty happy with what I chose in the end.
SHIRT: I recently sorted out all of my fabric remnants and stuff at home, throwing out old scraps that were never going to have any use (no matter how much I'd tried to convince myself otherwise!). I came across a big piece of white fabric, so I'll be using that for the shirt underneath the dress. I've also ordered some gingham ribbon to use on the sleeves and collar.
SHOES: One of the most important parts of the costume! I've bought some red heels in my size, and I'll be attaching strung sequins to them myself. I'll also be making the bows on the front as well. I would have bought ruby slippers if I'd had the opportunity, but all of the pairs that I saw advertised in my size were either "sexy Dorothy" shoes (do not want) or were too expensive. I've kinda set myself a mental challenge to see how cheaply I can do this costume for, so I'm glad I went with covering a pair of shoes myself in the end.
SOCKS: Omg, plain blue socks are in the length I want are apparently non-existant! Instead, I've bought a pair of knee-length blue socks, which I'll cut to size and hem.
HAIRBOWS: I'll be making these out of the leftover gingham ribbon from the shirt.
Unfortunately I don't know anyone who has a cairn terrier, so I probably won't have a Toto! :( I will, however, have a basket - I'll be re-using the one I had for Belle.
