| I liked her character in Red Dwarf: Back To Earth and i fancied cosplaying her, i have been able to find the right kind of fabric to make this and even a decent enough wig, the only thing i'm struggling with now is finding the right sewing pattern that is in my size. i would love to have it done for one of the Red Dwarf conventions and also have it as a light cosplay for the Expos | |

Its actually a really nice dress. :3 I'd definitely go for the blue/purple toned Taffeta to get that look. If its silk taffeta you'll probably want to line it 8D
Im sure you'll beable to do it and figure it out
cheers hun ^^ if that pattern i want to use for this fits i will probably get the silk taffeta and do what you said about making a lining for it :)
Just give it a bit more stiffness as I don't imagine her dress is fluttery, more stiff?
WoW I LOVE that dress! Can't wait to see it made. :)
btw don't kill me but I coldn't help thinking you could do a brilliant Catherine Tate cosplay, 'am I bovvered' girl (simple school outfit) or her character in the wedding dress from dr Who. ;) Just some cosplay Ideas I think would look really cool on you. Oh gosh you could even do a skit using her voice over..I'm just thinking ahead and rambling now..I do that a lot. ^__^
hehe thanks for the ideas :d i wouldn't mind doing Catherine Tate some day "face bovvered" XD
Have you found the material for this yet? :)
i had an idea but sadly i couldn't get the sewing pattern as it was something like 2 sizes too small >.< it's so frustrating
Ah that sucks! I have a pattern like that..bloomin American sizing..came out waaaaay too small for me. Even my niece couldnt wear it and she's like a strip of wind! So for that dress I'm gonna have to unpick and add some extra strips of fabric in so I can fit into it.. But the point of mentioning it is, Can you buy your pattern and then mark out new lines on spare fabric an inch or so out from the lines, and join the dots to make new size pattern rough? This is like advanced dressmaking. :)
i had ago at doing that for my Ada dress for it to fit my hips, my mum had to help me with it, but the problem was then that the back it self was too big so then we had to put darts in it >.< but i will get around to doing this one :)
