Sewed elastic to the goggles and decided it would be around the hood, so I don't have keep on taking it off and on all the time and he does that anyway when looking back at the manga XD I can borrow Yas' gloves and Syaoran is complete! *highfives but misses*

Goggles Part 2 8D (Posted 31st March 2010)

This is the most G-est thing that I've made. Woot for ghetto cosplay *shot*

Nah, I'm kidding but I'm really proud of my goggles 8DD It's not 100% the actual size and whatever but I tried my best making it look like Syaoran's goggles. My prop skills came in handy ("PERSONA!" well that was random otl) By the time, I finished doing my random stuff, the goggles finished drying and then I decided to paint it. I didn't have enough white or black paint so, I water downed it a tiny bit >__O It worked. I'm so inpatient when it comes to paint, so I paint over it when it's wet, it works for me though...not sure why. So after painting it 'silver' *coughGREYcough* I made some tiny details on it, I can't help it, I do that when I make props in college XD I wanted to give the goggles a bit of a dirty effect, since Syaoran is always in the deserts and fighting and what not, so I painted it a bit black and then a white paint afterwards to give it a shiny effect....bleh, it'll make sense when you see the pictures but yeah. I sometimes overdo it with props with the black and white detailing (sorry, took it from my old art teacher), so I tried not to for this one, so it doesn't look....too in my teacher's words "Cartoon-ish" D:> I hope it's realistic enough for Syaoran orz

Overall, I love my goggles, nice for me to give it a try, if I could, I might re-make them later on when I 'borrow' some polystyrene from college 8DD;

I was planning for Syaoran to be finished by today but when I tried to make the gloves, it was utter fail XD I can't make them to save my life O__< I might either sew material or elastic, so it can over my head and on the wig and stuff. Might be best to steal Yas' elastic *insertiamhappyplzfacehere* <-- wut?

I wanted to see if I could make Syaoran's goggles and I wanted to give it a try, so I decided to cut in half the polystyrene ball that Yas and I used for Luka's bob/tied hair up. Since it was too circular, I cut it again and then added the details that was inside the goggles. Crappy craft knife is crappy, I must buy another one =__= Of course I won't be able to see though it orz Then I paper mached around it. I'm now waiting for it to dry....but that will take ages xD At least I'm doing some progress today *shot*
When it's dry, I'll see if I can get some silver paint, I would prefer to get silver spray paint but stupid shopes these days won't allow me to buy it because apparently you have to be 18 and over to buy spray paint D: I might get a friend or even mum to get it for me lol XDD

I might do another try for the gloves....or I can ask Yas to make it for me *shot*

This is such crappy work though, I could do so much better if there was more polystyrene, then I wouldn't have to paper mache around it o__o

Ah well xD I'm sure I'll be pleased with it either way. I might sew on elastic to the googles....or material xD Not sure otl

You can't see the detail in the googles because of the lighting >__O

....are done 8D I sewed elastic at the end of each leg of the trousers and then I sewed the black thingys that goes at the ends and handsewed it onto the trousers because I thought it'd be a tad hard to sew it by machine because it's....small xD
I tried to make gloves but...I fail. I'm just going to hunt down for Yas' old black gloves or just buy a pair of new ones xD I'm going to use if I could make Syaoran's goggles but if I fail, I'll just borrow it from a friend *shot* But we'll see how it goes. This cosplay motivation works a lot :3
I'm happy that I got the trousers done, might sew buttons onto Ion next ^^

Trousers (Posted 11th February 2010)

Made the trousers this afternoon, randomly used my pj bottoms for a pattern *shot*
Bad choice to make...? Well it did work, so I guess it's 50/50 for me. I doubled layered the trousers and I hoped that I didn't have to go get more material but all it good. I have to sew the elastic on soon, maybe during the night. I can't move properly with my trousers sadly, I have to try not to tear a hole in them D; Oh dear...I need an improvement for trousers, next time I'll get or use a better pattern...blah, if I can be bothered, might want to sew in a zip in the trousers? Not sure but I like them :3
Syaoran is now...80% done?

More material xD (Posted 10th February 2010)

I took the advantage of my ema bonus and used 10 pounds for material for Ion and Syaoran. I got a couple of the final last bits for Syaoran! Now I must get started on it....tomorrow, because I spent most of my time on Ion XD; I got 3m of white material, I'm hoping with all of my heart that it's enough >__< Gah...but we'll see tomorrow. I decided ages ago that I will use elastic for the waist and the end of the trousers, to give a poofy effect looking thingy on the trousers and so if I were to gain more weight for Syaoran, the trousers would still fit me. Gosh, what a lame excuse *shot* I have to make the black bits for the trousers, luckily I have enough material left to make it, though I have to buy more buttons still *flails* This is going to be my third attempt on making trousers because the first and second time was trying to make trousers for my Akito/Agito...which never worked out, which made me buy white trousers but I'd like to give it a try for Syaoran though ^^/

Cloak 8D (Posted 9th January 2010)

I'm sure I can manage anyway lol Spent less time on it than my vest top XD It took a while hemming the cloak though *isnotgoodwithstraightlines* @_@
I was meant to sew the card with the material but the sewing machine didn't like that, so I sewed around it, so it wouldn't move. Hardest thing was the hood D; I made sure that it stood up from the back. This is the first hood that I didn't fail at, my Luca one is....fail OTL Thank you Yas for helping me with it <3
Lol Progress pictures xD Might need to cut the back to make it shorter but I'll be wearing platforms...so I'll re-think that later on. Next is either making or finding black gloves and then trouserssss D< I hope my trousers won't be fail like the last time orz
I can actually wear the hood but I look funny in it lol

Hood~ (Posted 8th January 2010)

I'm so sorry, I couldn't help but get started on the hood D;
I decided to work on it and it's taken me about an hour now and I've finished the hood XDD The vest top took three hours lol
But yeah, hood, um...I decided to use card OTL I know, right? Bad choice? I wanted to see if it would work and in fact it did 8DD *feels even more proud**shot** It took me a while to get started but I got the hood done, so I'm very happy with my Syaoran cosplay. Progress pictures will be up...if I finish the cloak tonight :D
Butttt...we'll see xD
So far, shoes (might get new ones), wig, vest top and hood done...hmm about 50% done..?

I'll post more when I make food and I get my cloak done :DD

Vest Top Completed/Wig test 8D (Posted 8th January 2010)

*flails* Finally finished something from Syaoran for so long D;
Did you hear that I broke two sewing needles? XD *shot* Yeah...Yas wasn't amused with me .__.;; She was seriously angry at me. I forgot that needles can break but seriously two needles broke....for Syaoran's vest top (the hell..?) Thank you so much, Yas, for helping me with the zip and everything else &gt;3&lt;~ &lt;33 First thing that I made with the sewing machine, which is quite good from my view, seeing how Yas and I have been hand sewing for over two years D; *feels very proud* Um...yeah, Yas is going to help me with my cloak 8D~ I have a pretty good idea that Syaoran will be finished first out of all of my expo cosplays *__* I aim at the end of Feb...?
Right now, Yas and I are debating about the hood because it's simliar to Suzaku's Knight of Zero (well the hood). We're just wondering how to make it stand up. Anyone got any ideas? That would be awesome XD

Materialllll 8D~ (Posted 31st December 2009)

At least before the year ended, Yas and I decided to buy material for expo cosplays, sadly, we didn't have enough for all cosplays, so we tried to manage with two cosplays. I tired to get material for Ion as well but I didn't have enough for him, as well as Kira orz I'm trying to multitask with mine at the moment. I got material for the coat/cloak thingy and the rest of Syaoran's vest top, seeing how I didn't have enough when I bought it. I made the man in the shop battle his way through to get the material that I wanted, I felt so bad D;
I used my manga for reference XD But it did work. I have to get started on the rest of his vest top and I have to make a hood for his cloak (blehh, hates hoods, seriously D;). The material that I got is thick, so hopefully I won't be too cold when I wear it. I'll get material for his trousers next year next time I'm out and for his googles.....well I'll be getting them soon. I feel very happy that Yas is lending me her brown wig for him >w<~ <33
I'm going to get started on my vest top and cloak when I have the time, right now I'm busy D; Blehhh... otl

Vest top Part 3 (Posted 6th December 2009)

I'm so lazy, I need to kick my ass to finish Syaoran off! At least I could finish his vest top, so off I gooooo. Our sewing machine was broken and now it's fixed but apparently, it's broken again D;
So, hand sewing for me once again *shot*
I personally don't mind but I shall do my best like I try to do XD;
Hopefully progress pictures will be up for Syaoran, so yeah, I'm going to start his vest top now even though it's not that hard to do orz

Vest top Part 2 (Posted 25th November 2009)

I started off with those strap thingys that hang from Syaoran's vest top and got gold buttons for it a week ago, since it looks like a gold-ish colour, I'm not sure if it's right but it looks gold by comparing both to the anime and manga *shot*
It didn't take that long but I have to do another four for the trousers xP;

Vest top Part 1 (Posted 18th November 2009)

I decided from my left over black material from Sebastian, I'm going to make my vest for Syaoran to start things off for him. I'm going to slowly get him done while I'm still looking for a Radu, trying to get my recordings done (isbeingverylazyorz) and finishing off Hikari XD I'm so strange on how I get things done with my cosplays...
I know that I said that I won't start any expo cosplays 'til I get a couple of cosplays that I've been wanting to do before but I think if I get a couple of small things done for my expo cosplays, it'll be easier for me in the upcoming year. Either way, I won't go too crazy on sewing expo cosplay....yet. I'll just be simply multitasking orz
I might get Syaoran done before Ion, seeing how his outfit is somewhat simply to make, even though I'm having trouble with deciding the colour for his cape :/

I know where you can actually buy circle goggles, APART FROM CAMDEN TOWN!
Seriously, it's awesome...and cheaper! Though I have to save up money because I'm poor and my mum wants me to learn how to save EMA money. When Yas and I were in Camden Town ages ago, I couldn't find circle goggles there, thanks Camden!
