| I originally priced this at £40 ~ boy I'm glad I didn't bet my soul and gentle manners on that one!! (or did I...?) Anyway~ The shoes are the only things REMOTELY close to done so far, though the main dress isn't far off and the skirt I just got off Ebay... oh ok its all here I just need to polish it all off... A LOT! Anyway, I'm furthest with my shoes, I found some old platform trainers at home that I used to wear when I was in my last year of secondary school, which is GOOD! Because Reith's shoes are madness... nowhere sells platform trainers much any more, anyway those fond childhood memories went under the stanley knife and I cut off all the laces etc. Nect because they were slipping about a lot I destroyed two other pairs of shoes! An old pair of heeled work shoes and some winter boots. I chopped the work shoes in half and bunged the toes down the inside of the platform ones which made them snug, and cut the reith-ish design out of the boot leather and glued it onto the top (see image since I am crap at descriptions) Next the shoe was pretty lumpy so I invested in this industrial... "Milliput" putty which is used for stuff like radiator and boat repairs etc so its very strong and I covered the shoes in it! That stuff is legendary! Everyone should use it! I smoothed out the shoes and made the ED pattern on the soles too! Finally I painted using acrylics~* hazzar! done! Milliput costs about £4 a shot but I covered a shoe with one and a half packs including the 3D patterns so thats not too bad ~ acrylics cost about £10 together and the shoes cost me nothing I already had those^^ Mum helped me with the main dress... I'm telling you I had no idea where to start! @_@: So thats in its bare bones and I need to touch it up and line it. The fabric cost about £16 for 3 metres its thick... umm maybe linen.. I forget what type but its very thick. I'm also starching the petals and piping them with wire to make them hold still. I've got a lot to do yet u_u; For the collar which is the bane of my life I've glued and sewn black satin onto an old schoolshirt collar. I'll probably use milliput to make the cross pattern;; The skirt is actually a trashy Ebay find~ after I abandoned my silly plan of getting the Ralph Lauren tennis model I went for "HOT SEXY SCHOOLGIRL CLUBWEAR WHITE MINISKIRT. BABE" Woo! >_> All that for £5! man! I know where I'll be getting my wedding dress from when the time comes!! I've had to sew on the ribbon by hand and it took me a whole evening to backstitch ONE stripe onto it! The hair and hairclips ~ I'm buying a 42 inch wig off Ebay for £20 to make the braids,,, I'll probably use good ol' Milliput and toilet rolls to make the hairclips and I bought some of that soft yellow feathery stuff form a craft stall for £2 and NOWHERE DOES ANYONE SELL REASONABLY PRICED YELLOW SILK FLOWERS! Fury!! +_+ Should I use Milliput again? Man I'll be brushing my teeth with the stuff by the time I'm done >0< I doubt I'l make the wand it'll only get stolen or lost ~ so sensibly I might bring my beautiful dollfie instead! WISE! hehe xx approx total cost so far: £60-£70 ------------UPDATE--------------- Major dilemma! I've been concentrating on the dress over the last few days and something has occured to me: the reason it looks a bit odd and shapeless on me... besides my sterling sewing skills is because my chi chis are WAY too small! Oooh Lydia-chan! This looks amazing. Sooo much better than Chii!!!!
Ah-ha! So this is the Reith costume?! It looks so cool and so yellow!!! *has always wanted an excuse to wear lots of yellow* The costume looks really really good! Okay I'm definately keeping my eye out for you at the expo! Good luck on the outfit! ^^ *sends good luck vibes*
hope you had time to do this for May I would love love love to see it!
thats a really clever idea with the shoes you used! they are perfect for her.
amazing. that's such a pretty costume! i look forward to seeing it! >w<
i had a similar problem with my *ahem* "chi chis" when i did matsumoro, at the time i opted for a set of false boobs (made for female impersonators)but they were rather pointy and not the best, :S
however since then it has been sugested that making teardrop shaped fillets filled with rice (dry, not cooked) teamed with a cheapy asda bra, make a quite effective in-expensive booster
i'm really looking forward to seeing pics of this costume, the shoes and the flower look awesome and i know the rest will too
i'm gutted i cant make it to may to see it in person :(
This looks absolutely beautiful so far! I've been meaning to rent/buy this game for a while, haha. ^^
Wow that is absolutly amasing. it's turned out perfect. you make a great reith. I wish I was going to expo now XD

Yellow seems to suit you (not that I know you, I mean in a purely aesthetic perspective) as a colour.
Great job. ^^
