|She's so cute and quite feisty! ^_^|
The boots should be...interesting...
Final Fantasy Group at Expo but I might take her to Kita as well!
Post Minami (Posted 22nd April 2010)
So as far as I'm concerned the costume is complete. It was very comfy to wear. ^_^ Being a blonde was strange - not sure if I had more fun as one :P
Bits to be made/improved before Expo:
I've decided not to make boots since my own worked quite well. Not perfect but comfy and ideal. ^_^
Ridiculous (Posted 11th April 2010)
So because I do not have boobs under my chin and an impossibly long body my shirt seems a little off, particularly the bottom edge skirt bit. However, it is as damn near accurate as I can get it and that's the main thing! Going to add the sleeves and then the shirt is finished minus a few bits of handstitching! Yay! Then I can get back to the sleeveless jacket...
Also, it's looking more and more likely I won't have boots in time for Minami so will probably wear make-do ones but will have the right ones for Expo.
Boots Design (Posted 16th February 2010)
Since trying to find thigh-high brown boots was an almost impossible task as they were either very slutty or covered in buckles etc I decided to try and make my own...this may end in tears I feel but we shall see.
I couldn't get stretch suede/suedette/leatherette in Fabricland but found some non-stretch in a good colour.
Last night I had an epiphany on how to do the shoes. Since there are no pictures of the back of the boots I'm going to make the back a lace-up rather than zip. Then make a white bit to go over the top - probably a velcro or popper attachment. I think this will work well and allow some flexibility.
Shirt Progress (Posted 9th February 2010)
The shirt pattern was easier than I made it out to be. Sometimes the images seem confusing >.< Still the shirt is in progress. I need to remake the collar since it isn't the right shape. Also I'm trying to figure out how to the skirt-like edge at the bottom. It looks pleated but I'm tempted to use my flounce method from my Alice cosplay as it'll be easier I think.
Jacket/Waistcoat (Posted 3rd February 2010)
Using a modified version of Kwiksew pattern 3557 I started on the jacket. Took some trimming since the jacket is a kind of odd shape. However have had to pause as I can't cut and hem the bottom edge until the shirt is done as the jacket ends just below the shirt. Was going to start on the shirt but the pattern has me confused >.< so I'm waiting for same_difference to get home so he can explain it to me!
Wig has been ordered. ^_^
