| Going as General Beatrix of Alexandria. Have so far bough material, shoes and embroidery cotton and have got as far as starting to embrioder the rose on my back! I have decided to go as Beatrix as I really fancy playing the bad guy for a change! 29/01/08 Started last night!! Have cut the white side of the costume ad tacked together to check the fit. looks quite cool despite missing the burgundy layer and being sewn together! Now have to un-tack as I need to embroider the rose on the back which is a lot less effort when it's just the back piece! Will get some photos uploaded soon. 04/02/08 Nearly finished the rose for my back piece now, just need to add the gold outlining (arg metallic thread!) to fill in the white gaps and it will be done! 21/02/08 Rose is finished, took hours but was totally worth it! Have cut and fitted the inner red half of the costume and last night started to sew the two together, also attaching the collar. It's coming together so well now! only Armour, pants sword, eye patch and wig styling left to go :? 25/03/08 So the Main part of the costume is done, working on my pants at the mo, made the main part just need to add eyelets and cord and they are done! 2/4/8 Material pieces done, coat, pants gloves and belt. Have cut out the pieces of foam for the belt detail and half of the shoe armour, which are currently drying on my kitchen table (would have more armour but I've run out of drying space!) When the shoe armour is done it will need attaching to my shoes, then its just leg, wrist and elbow armour left to do! Oh and an eye patch! So nearly there people! Have also started my Save The Queen sword, but have created a separate costume for that! 3/4/8 OK so having a productive few days, sword on the way (see separate costume) I have done my shoe armour, my arm armour, which actually hinges properly at the elbow! Hand armour, eye patch all thats left to make it the bit of armour for the legs, and a giant paint-a-thon! however my kitchen table is only so big so its being done in chunks! Belt decoration on last coat so will finish the belt soon and free up some space. When I started this I don't think I realsed how many little bits needed doing! arg! 06/05/08 haven't updated for a while, last coat of pain drying on last bits of amour (leg and shoe bits) should get those put together tonight and that's the main costume done! Just the sword to finish! Will condense this when its all done. | |
