| He's Amazing, He's fantasic, His methods are quite drastic, But he'll help you when you're sick! Ladies and Gents we proudly present- Doctor Mechanic! Doctor Mechanic is part of the same universe as Captain Cogsworth and Co. He owns his own private medical facility which focuses on not just curing, but improving the human body. Because of this he's one of the few places which can maintain and upgrade Cogsworth. Well, actually there are many places but he has the best patient confidentially which is needed when you're a prototype on the run from your creators. Will be wearing to Ayacon Friday and Saturday. I'll be joining Captain Cogsworth and Pierre the Goblin. And it shall be quite excellent. | |

Corset boned. Just waiting for Bolts (Posted 7th August 2009) Here's the front boned but not yet finished |

Corset boned. Just waiting for Bolts (Posted 7th August 2009) Boned the corset today with sprung steel and a sheet of MDF. Looking nice and deformed! |
|
Corset half done (Posted 6th August 2009) It's green polycotton with orange raw silk lining and a coutil strength layer using the fold over method. The cog fabric is one of my own that I designed and got printed a while back. I'm so going to use it to make a mini hat. All of the boning channels are stitched in orange- it's nicer to look at, but my god it makes mistakes one of my biggest fears. I found out today that the bolts I ordered to mount the cogs on the front are too short to do it properly. So looks like I'll get this baby boned tomorrow but won't be able to finish the entire thing until they arrive. This makes me sad as I want my mechanical corset NAO. Oh yeah, it's going to be boned in 10mm flat steel. And a sheet of MDF. Why the MDF? Well, that shall become apparant when it's done. When I wear this I'm going to look so wonderfully deformed. |

I do definatly love the work with the face :D
Wow that is just amazing, I'm going to look out for this at Aya ^_^
I'll be doing a panel on emergency cosplay repairs at Ayacon as Doctor Mechanic at 5pm on the Friday if you want to see him in character. He is much fun in real life :D

My god the sheer amount of detail on this is simply amazing.
Oh my god!! I'll definitely be popping along to the panel to see this!! *___* absolutely fantastic!!
Cooool. 8)
Oww I would like to have seen Dr Mechanic in action, sounds fun. Just couldn't make it to Aya this time around.
Let me guess though...does he have a German accent ven he is speaking? :D
Haha, HELL NO!
Doctor Mechanic is completely and perfectly British. He's very quiet and polite, and awefully considerate. That's mainly to do with his voice modulator though, which you'll see being built soon.

That's freakin' scary, but at the same time, freakin' epic. <3
..even more intriguing. ^^
This is so awesome!
How on earth do you make a corset? Oo
Exactly the same way you make a shirt, just with more seams and STEEL.

Should have asked for a picture at Aya X_X curses!
Great work! It looks awesome, wish I knew about the panel before would have definitely gone, should have looked at the con shedule properly ^^; .
LOVED IT!!
completely blowen away by this, so amazing in person, so so amazing.
Ah i wish i went to Aya, would of loved to see this in person, it looks amazing =D
Brilliant character concept and costume creation. Looks like doctor mechanic isn't averse to performing the odd bit of surgery/improvement on himself.
Looks fantastic.
I should like to see the doctor myself someday, though not in his professional capacity..
*...nurse, pass me the BONE SAW please...
I won't lie, this is going to hurt. A lot...*
@_@ @_@ @_@
Are you writing more of his background story?
I'm actually going to start writing a comic about the steampunk characters. Nothing makes characters better than a little back story.
-Tab
yessss i would definately definately read a comic of your steampunk characters...fell in love with them...i'm so glad i got to stand behind you guys in the masquerade queue and just bask in your cosplay-glory..amazing!!!!!!!
You portrayed the character really well on stage, very creepy! Great job.
A very well made costume ^^ I especially love the corset.
It was nice to meet you at Aya ^_^
