Description
I first made this costume for a party in 2004. I used her a few times between then and 2008. I began to revise the costume in 2008, but was unable to complete it until 2009. ::: I let her out of the asylum and straight into the world of expo to October MCM 2009. She thought it was Wonderland. All the humans were Wonderland creatures. - She had a lighter dress as the night of the fire her night dress was lighter. She had her Wonderland dress on as she confused Expo with Wonderland, and humans then saw her as if it was. -- Fantasy and Reality entwined. FUTURE USES: MCM Expo, May 2011 (Asylum gown with doctor) FEBRUARY 2011 - Made an 'ingame/ wonderland' dress. And finally the actual Asylum gown. I was going to cosplay as alice too. But I decided to go for something eles. Im not letting anyone know yet as it past of my cosplay groups suprise at expo. But im a food....

Knife (Posted 9th February 2011)

Made a new knife yesterday.. just a quick one, but i love it. becka was right! hehe.
it's a lot better than the one i used for expo. It could do with a bit of sanding to hide the join in two layers of balsa wood. I cut balsa wood with scissors, super glued two peices together. Sawed some flat oval piping for handle. Super glued the wood into the handle, then used some green stuff on top an bottom of handle. Sprayed blade with silver christmas spray then painted handle with brown warhammer paint. it needs tidying up, but was used today and I think it looked good.

I bought fabric today and made an 'In Game' dress, and Asylum gown.
The blue isn't as good as it looked in the shop, but I like it still. I needed it quick before Wednesday.
The gown, I might add a bit of blood, but I'm thinking it needs to be clean'ish. I made it from what I would call nighty faric. I love it! This will be the version I bring to May Epo (2011) - with a Doctor :D .... hopfully people will 'get it' ...

Looking forward to Wednesday!!!!!!!

Alice is being let out of the Ayslum with Doctor S at Expo May 2011.
She will be in her Asylum atire I think... instead of Wonderland/Fire night dress. The doctor will try to keep her out of Wonderland I'm sure.
Oh, yes Mr Rabbit will be there even without her.

Alice 2 is getting nearer and nearer :D

If anyone wants to be part of a McGee's Alice Group, let me know. Could do with some Wonderland ceatures or maybe an In Game Alice..

KKProps cut and sanded the knife for me.
I then used polyfiller to fill in the blade, so it didn't look like wood.
Then I used silver hair spray to colour the blade, and a burnt wood vanish for the handle. I didn't get time to do shading, but it looked ok.

Mr Rabbit had a sooty time with some chalk powder.. some scrunched up tissue and a few too many make up pads.

I did some retouches to the dress.
I went over the symbols with black fabric pen - which I'm thinking I shouldn't have. But oh well.
Also instead of fake blood I cut up a red biro and used the ink to make some more blood stains... hope it doesn't look too odd with different shades or red, maybe it's different enemies blood, or just older stains.. which ever.

There was some offcut ply wood from my parents house (they are re-decorating).. I pinched some and drew out a knife shape..

I then got KKProps to cut and sand it to shape for me. I need to stain the handle and paint the blade..

Well the knife was a no no, I e-mailed the shop and the knife was WAY too big.
I thought my old knife would be better than nothing, but I really can't find it.
Looks like Mr Rabbit and some jacks in her pocket will have to do.

Ok, so I can't help myself.. A lot of stuff going on but as I haven't got a date for my next operation I am almost certain I will be attending mcm in a couple of weeks - YAY! I shouldn't get too excited just incase, but I need to get a few touches done otherwise it will end up a last minute panic - which i could do without at the moment. Regardless of if I can go or not my fiance was lovely and booked out hotel. This means that I REALLY can't help myself and had to let Alice loose for half hour.

I'm glad i did as she's not as finished as I thought.
I forgot I need to:

- re-colour symbols.
- slightly pleat dress (?)
- bit more blood on pettycoat
- decide on shoes
- cut hair
- tack pettycoat to dress

I repainted the necklace as the paint had chipped a lot.

Months ago I found the perfect knife on a website/shop in southampton but it has been Out of Stock everytime I look. Then today I looked and it's in stock, so hopfully I can have a trip to the shop at the weekend while I'm there. Save on some postage.
